Somerville Funerals and women's business group, Soroptimist International are calling on residents of the Gold Coast to donate books that will be given to the flood affected communities around Queensland who have already lost so much.
Books are something that are often taken for granted these days, with the internet now available almost everywhere and portable devices allowing us to take our favourite music and videos with us. Yet when a natural disaster such as Queensland has just experiened strikes, it is a lot easier to put a book into someone's hands than it is to replace a computer or other digital media device. And once read, a book can be easily shared with others, making it the gift that keeps on giving.
Somerville Funerals is making all three of its locations available as collection points for donations, with the hand over occuring on March 31.
